5 Frequently Asked Questions on Home Staging
If you haven’t sold your home in a while you may want to know what all the buzz is about home staging. Do you really need it? Why do you do it? How much does it cost? All these questions may be playing havoc with you if you are new to “home staging”. Home staging has become an essential part of the real estate industry and is a proven factor for selling your home and getting you the most money for your home.
We have put together the 5 most common FAQS that we think may help you understand why home staging is so important.
- Why should I paint my home if the buyer may change the paint colour after purchase?
There are 3 reasons why you should paint your home before you sell.
- Most buyers cannot visualize your home if it has really bold colours, wallpaper, etc. They may not see the potential of your home, the size of your rooms or visualize their furniture in your home.
- Fresh paint always gives a turnkey impression. Buyers can move right in and not have to do anything if your paint is neutral. Some may choose to paint later but, in the meantime, your neutral décor will fit in with any furniture they may have.
- It is one of the least expensive updates you can give your home.
- Why would you stage a vacant home with furniture?
A vacant home is very challenging because you want to make it look like a home where someone lives. A vacant home can be staged with furniture and accessories quite easily. When you have an occupied home, you do have the essence that a family lives there and many buyers want to see that homey atmosphere when they are hunting for a new home. Furniture in a room also allows buyers to visualize furniture placement, whereas empty rooms often appear smaller.
- Why does home staging work?
Let’s face it, your home is one of the biggest investments you may have in your lifetime. With home staging this will help you maximize on your investment and have a better return on your money. Most buyers are looking for a move-in ready home and home staging helps them visualize this instantly.
