Now that your home is ready to be listed by our Team, there are a few suggestions we have for our sellers. These tips can help you get more traffic through your home.

  • Review your listing online

Take a few minutes to review your listing online. We want to make sure everything is complete.

  • Be receptive

Sometimes buyers are only available for a few days to buy a home and you don’t want to miss any opportunities.

  • Keep it clean and tidy

You want buyers to visually see the home they viewed in your pictures. Try to keep your home show-worthy as possible. This just may be the ticket to a fast sale.

  • Pets — take them for a walk

If you can, take your dog for a walk during the open house or showing times. Also, if Fido has been left while you are working and they have left messes around the home, you will find buyers looking for the nearest exit.

  • Leave your lights on!

You want buyers to glimpse a cheery, bright home. If it is a dark or rainy day just the idea of light through your home lets buyers concentrate on the inside.

  • Kitchens and bathrooms are very important

Upgrades to kitchens and bathrooms can give you back about 60-85% of your money. If you can’t afford a total remodel – update counters, sink, and taps. Have your kitchen cupboards repainted, if needed. Just adding a new backsplash can add a different look. Hint: check the new peelable backsplash tiles that are easy to do and won’t break the bank.

  • First impression is the best impression

Buyers judge your home within 30 seconds of walking in the door. Let them want to see more. Make sure the exterior is as beautiful as your interior. Your door should be painted and welcoming and add some greenery near your entranceway.

  • Repairs

When our Team does a walkthrough of your home and we notice repairs that are needed e.g. (leaky toilet, water stain in the ceiling) you should fix them. Simple repairs are often easy to do and don’t make buyers think your home may have hidden problems.

Sometimes as sellers, you are not aware that you may be unintentionally jeopardizing the sale of your home by turning off buyers. Even though we may suggest some changes to your home, we are doing this in the best light to make sure your home is competitive with other similar homes that are for sale.

If you have any further questions on how we can help stage and sell your home, do not hesitate to contact the Anne Winch Real Estate Team. We will provide a free evaluation of your home and make suggestions on how we can stage your home and get it quickly on the market.
